The Roosevelt Community Choir was organized in March 1973 because most of the members lived in the Roosevelt Heights Apartments in the Nicholtown Community. As the choir grew to include members from other states and cities, the name was changed to The Nicholtown Community Choir.
Mrs. Louise Massey began to hold weekly bible study for the choir as a way to teach and groom Christians. Following her, others took the opportunity to lead the choir in bible study. Over the years we have witnessed many members being called into each dimension of the 5-fold ministry; over 15 to the Spoken Word Ministry and at least 7 became pastors.
Through the dynamic training and spiritual leadership of Ms. Bonnie Franks over these past almost 50 years, the choir has metamorphosed from a group of singers to a family that has weathered many storms together. The choir has ministered in song to crowds that range from 5 to thousands as they traveled across the nation spreading the gospel. Not only does the choir minister in song, but they also minister by serving the community to provide support and assist those in need.
